You cannot come to Paris without hearing a word about the Orsay Museum (Musée d’Orsay), but today we’re going to tell you a little more about this gorgeous museum.

The Orsay museum, on the left side of the Seine, is filled with paintings and occidental sculptures, mostly from 1848 to 1914. Going through the permanent expositions, you will see some famous paintings from Monet, Degas, but also some big masterpieces from Van Gogh like “La nuit étoilée”.

The museum used to be a train station named Orsay, the atmosphere there is totally mesmerizing. The height under ceiling seems huge, and all the golden decorations and the softness, but also the simplicity of the decoration will let you speechless.

In this beautiful old train station, you’ll be find many restaurants and bars to have a little break during your artistic visit.

Be sure that you have at least two hours in order to have a look at all the masterpieces and take a little drink in one of the bars. Not sure to really like the paintings? Take a look at the Museum’s reference book: http://www.musee-orsay.fr/fr/collections/catalogue-des-oeuvres/recherche-simple.html

The entrance is free every first Sunday of the month, and the entry fee is on “reduced price” after 4:30PM (except on Thursdays, because on Thursdays you have are ‘’night entrance’’ 😉)
